My tour hit a number of these - the ones located in downtown. Don't fret though, the group will be holding haunted Christmas tours starting in December.Īccording to Black Raven Paranormal, some of the top haunted places in Staunton include: Western State Asylum, the Depot Station, Charlotte Coffman House, Mary Baldwin University, the former SunTrust Bank, the American Hotel, DeJarnette Sanatorium, Clocktower restaurant, Emilio's and Selma Mansion. They have different tour options - Staunton's Haunted History, Dark Takes and Haunts, Haunted American Hotel and Haunted Depot tours. The group also investigates buildings and homes that people have had experiences in or have seen, felt or heard presences in. So it's kind of a crap shoot of what I'll get. I've had spirits that mess with me, play tricks and scare me. I mean, I am, most of the time, but honestly I'm downright terrified. Some may think I'm totally cool with the whole ghost thing.
